EA Sports publish and develop some of the best sports games available today. They are responsible for publishing the Madden franchise. The game is considered the best football video game on the market. Madden is the only football game that has access to the NFL roster. This allows you to play with all your favorite NFL teams and players. A new Madden game is released every year. Madden is EA Sports most popular title in the United States.

FIFA is another great EA Sports franchise. You can play as the most popular soccer teams in the league. FIFA has well thought-out controls. This results in being able to pull off some amazing plays. Multiplayer is available in the FIFA series. This allows you to test your soccer skills against anyone around the world. The FIFA series is extremely popular in Europe.

Another popular series from EA Sports is Fight Night. Fight Night is a boxing game with interesting controls. The controls in Fight Night allow you to use the thumb sticks on your controller to throw various punches. This series is also known for its cinematic knockouts. These slow down time and replay the last few punches you landed leading up to a knockout.

Everyone knows that an online game is only as good as the network that carries it and there are a number of reasons for that. Those of you reading this who have 4g internet service probably don’t need to hear this, but anyone trying to game on a network that just can’t handle it better listen up because there are some things you have to know if you want to get the most out of your online experience.

What it all comes down to more than anything else is bandwidth – the amount of usage you are taking up on the network. Without a strong and reliable network, you could really be putting some horrendous strain on a network that just can’t handle gaming as well as IM. The same is true even if you are console gaming online – unless you’re network is big enough it just can’t handle the load. Normally, you would be able to verify whether or not the network is capable of handling the load, but if you don’t have a lot of options, there are a few things you can try. Close down any online programs you are not currently using – Facebook, email, instant messenger. It might just make enough difference and free up enough bandwidth to take your online gaming to a whole new level.

The original Playstation system was the catalyst for what would become a gaming empire. Many of the games for this system are just as fun to play today as they were years ago. Many game legacies were created from these games, and the roots of these legacies remain top choices today.

Metal Gear Solid takes tactical espionage to a new level. There were many follow-up games released after this game quickly rose to massive popularity. The graphics and game play of the original Metal Gear Solid are so well done that fans of this game choose to keep it in their collection and play it frequently.

Driving games such as Gran Turismo are another choice that fans of the original Playstation still play on a regular basis. This is yet another game that spawned many versions. Before Gran Turismo was released, racing fans had few options. The stellar graphics and wide variety of track and car choices keep this game ranked highly today.

Hardcore gamers may purchase the latest systems and games. However, many choose to hold onto their original Playstation, as there were so many excellent games release for this system. Games for this system can now be purchase at deep discounts, yet provide just as much fun as they did years ago.

The Sega gaming console without a doubt was one of the more popular consoles designed, and still is used today by many game players. The console was popular because of its ease of use and the library of games that was made for it. The Sega Genesis console was one of the more popular ones in the line and delivered great 16-bit graphics along with outstanding game play. Let us look at some of the more popular games that were made for this console.

One of the top games for Sega was Sonic the Hedgehog.Sonic was a blue hedgehog that could do many different things including spin and move super fast. Players loved what you could do with him, and Sonic is still popular today. Streets of Rage was another game that gamers for the Sega Genesis console loved a lot. You had to be the toughest person in the streets fighting many different thugs. The game play was fast and moved quickly. Later on came Mortal Kombat II for the Sega Genesis and help set the Genesis apart from the crowd. In Mortal Kombat II, you could pick your fighter and play a story mode or play against a friend. It was something that people loved to do and many still play the Genesis console today in their homes.

Looking back it seems remarkable that it has been 15 years since the Nintendo 64 first hit the market in North America. It seems like only yesterday I was banging my head against the wall in agitation trying to make the last leap onto the final platform to reach Bowser in Super Mario 64 (one of the most progressive and endlessly entertaining games of all time). There are too many great N64 games to easily narrow them down into a top 5 list, but I’ve done my best here. For satisfactions sake I included an “honorable mentions” section after my main choices.

5 Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (1996)

4 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998)

3 StarFox 64 (1997)

2 Super Mario 64 (1996)

1 The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (2000)-not only the greatest of N64 games, but one of the greatest games ever devised. A strange, dark chapter in the Link saga. If it is possible for a game to be art, Majora’s Mask is the Mona Lisa.

Honorable Mentions
Mario Kart 64 (1997); Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (1998); GoldenEye 007 (1997); Super Smash Bros. (1999); Army Men: Sarge’s Heros (1999); Pokemon Snap (1999)

There’s nothing quite like playing old-school games on the PS2. There’s also no other game series quite like Tomb Raider. Three Tomb Raider games were released for the PS2, beginning with Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. While not as popular as earlier games in the series, for my money, this game still beats just about anything on the market. If anything, the lack of tombs to raid provides a refreshing change of pace.

The Angel of Darkness was followed by the Tomb Raider Legend reboot that dropped Core Design for Crystal Dynamics. This is the game that returned the Tomb Raider franchise to the level of popularity it enjoyed in its early days. While there are plenty of tombs to raid in this one, the highlight is a mad dash across the rooftops of Tokyo. This is one you don’t want to miss.

The last Tomb Raider game to be released for the PS2 was Tomb Raider: Anniversary. While this game is a remake of the original Tomb Raider, it’s worth playing just to see the changes that were made. Some will see it as an improvement on the earlier version and some will not. You be the judge.
